Application 4 Documentation

The links below give access to all the documentation for the 4th application to develop the Campion House site. Please let us know if you would like copies of the CDs with the contents listed below. You may well not have time to look at all the documents. Our recommendation is that if you want to have a good knowledge of the application without some of the finer detail then the two documents you should read are (1) The Design and Access Statement and (2) the Planning Statement. A lot of interesting and useful background context information is provided in (3) the Conservation Area Statement.

BASIC DOCUMENTS
(1) Design and Access Statement. (117 MB)
(2) Planning Statement. (0.25 MB)
(3) Conservation Area Statement + Design and Access for Tigar Hall and Campion House. (180 MB)

The Council's Planning Website

If you feel lucky you might like to trying finding the files that interest you on the Council's Planning website. The files have been placed there with no regard to order, duplication, legibility and other problems. The filenames are not given and even when you find them they do not indicate the nature of the file contents. It would have been normal in such circumstances to provide an index of the files. Our planners seem to believe that merely placing files on a website makes them more accessible. Having spent three hours indexing the files to make sense of the jumble we have reason to object to this slapdash approach. Here is the index file we made. You can get search the Council Planning website here.

Mystery File

When we tried to make sense of the mess of files on the Council's website we noted one file which is simply a document with the title "Express Evaluation". At the top of the page is a note: "This document is too large to be published. Should you wish to view the document, please contact the Planning Department on Tel: ". That's it, the space for a telephone number is blank! The Case Officer responded to our request for infomation about this file. He found that it was a series of photographs of the area. Why that should be called an "Express Evaluation" and why a file of 26 MB should be be considered to big when other files in the series are as large as 117 and 180 MB remains a mystery. The photographs are good but it is also a bit of a mystery why the housing in Church Road, and the houses from on the northern end of Thornbury Road (from Church Road), have been missed out. Still, for what it is worth, we now have the mystery file of photographs
(69) Photographs of the area (26 MB)
